 Yay for FALL BREAK

ANNOUNCEMENTS

End of Term:  I can't believe it is almost the end of the term! (Term ends Oct. 15th.) ALL WORK must be turned in by today, Monday, October 13th. This deadline has been told to students many times.  They were also given missing reports on Friday and 45 minutes in class to gather and work on assignments.  

Fall Break! School will be dismissed early on Wednesday, Oct. 15th.  There will be NO SCHOOL on October 16th-17th.  Enjoy the fresh fall weather and sleep in!

*Please note that Monday, Oct. 20th is also early dismissal.*

School Photos: School pictures are tomorrow, Tuesday, October 14th. Make sure you're there, as these photos will be featured in our yearbook! If you would like to purchase photos online, go to bellphoto.com  and enter the prepay code: IslandView25

*Retakes will be on Nov. 11th.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween: Our school will host an outdoor Halloween parade at 9:15 am.  Any costumes that are distracting or uncomfortable will need to be changed out of.  Our class party will be at the end of the day.

Costume Reminders:

Be respectful: Avoid stereotypes. Be racially sensitive and culturally appropriate. Students may not dress up as an ethnic or cultural group (i.e., a Mexican, a Geisha, a Native American, etc). Skin color must not be altered in any way, including face painting.

Be responsible: Recognize that students in a wide age range will see the costumes. Costumes should be family friendly. Masks may not be worn. Costumes may not be gory or threatening. No make-up is allowed. 

Be safe: No props are allowed.  Crowns or hats may be worn. 

Be kind: Costumes should be fun and exciting, not political, or offensive. 

Be understanding: Students may dress up as fictional characters if they follow the above guidelines.
