Back In Action

 THANK YOU for everyone and your support as I went through medical issues. I can honestly say that I was excited to get back to teaching! I missed my school kiddos and am grateful for positive substitute feedback. 

Also, thank you for coming to parent-teacher conferences.  It was lovely talking to all of you! 


ANNOUNCEMENTS

End of Term:  I can't believe it is almost the end of the term! (Term ends Oct. 15th.) ALL WORK must be turned in by Monday, October 13th.


Fall Break! School will be dismissed early on Wednesday, Oct. 15th.  There will be no school on October 16th-17th.  Enjoy the fresh fall weather and sleep in!



School Photos: Heads Up: Mark your calendars! School pictures are happening on Tuesday, October 14th. Make sure you're there, as these photos will be featured in our yearbook! If you need a flyer, please contact the office.


Homework: Students are given a weekly homework paper which includes a reading log and math page.  Students must return this homework every Friday.  Please help you student get this done!

    ***There will be no homework given over Fall Break!***


Halloween: Our school will host an outdoor Halloween parade at 9:15 am.  Any costumes that are distracting or uncomfortable will need to be changed out of.

Costume Reminders:
Be respectful: Avoid stereotypes. Be racially sensitive and culturally appropriate. Students may not dress up as an ethnic or cultural group (i.e., a Mexican, a Geisha, a Native American, etc). Skin color must not be altered in any way, including face painting.
Be responsible: Recognize that students in a wide age range will see the costumes. Costumes should be family friendly. Masks may not be worn. Costumes may not be gory or threatening. No make-up is allowed. 
Be safe: No props are allowed.  Crowns or hats may be worn. 
Be kind: Costumes should be fun and exciting, not political, or offensive. 
Be understanding: Students may dress up as fictional characters if they follow the above guidelines.

Reading and Language Arts:  Native Americans, fluency, vocabulary

Math: Double and triple digit multiplication testing

Social Studies: Age of Exploration review and test

Science: Report presentations
