ANNOUNCEMENTS
TESTING: End-of-year testing begins THIS WEEK! Tuesday we will begin our ela RISE test. The following week we will do science, and the week after that we will complete the math portion. Please have your student here! Making up tests is extremely difficult. Not only do we have RISE tests, but there are diagnostics, Acadience, i-Ready. Every day at school is an important day. We are learning important curriculum and/or reviewing items for the end of the year and preparatory for 6th grade.
FIELD TRIP: Island View’s fifth-grade students will be going on our “Davis Goes Green” fieldtrip. We will be taking a bus to the Weber Basin Water Conservatory, Wasatch Integrated Waste Management District, and the South Davis Sewer District to show students first-hand how their water is cleaned, and their waste managed. This field trip aligns with our science standards and gives them real world scenarios to help understand the world around them.
Due to the number of students we have, we’ll split the students into two groups:
· Monday, April 20th: Mahoney
and Tooley classes
·
Tuesday,
April 21st: Purdie, Crew and Larson classes
We will leave
the school at 9:00 am and will return at 1:30 pm.
*Students must wear closed-toe shoes in order to be allowed on the field trip.*
